The Gallery: Dover

During October I visited the white cliffs of Dover with a local trekking group. To say that it was windy is an understatement, no hair down! And to say that the walk was easy is also another lie, wear comfortable shoes (although I did see two women wearing heels while hiking up the steep hills – I can’t even wear heels on level ground! Those women had skills). The views are unbelievable and on a clear day you can see the shores of France! Don’t get concerned if you phone thinks you’re in France as you walk along the cliffs – everyone’s did. My tip would be to find the lighthouse, the views from there are incredible and they serve a nice English tea!

Welcome Ramblers

“A smile is always the best introduction…”

So, I’ve done a few posts and I thought this would be the opportune moment for you to get to know me a bit better! So, I’ve chosen 15 questions to answer so you can come better acquainted with me. Continue reading “Welcome Ramblers”

The Gallery: Rome

Back in March I went to beautiful Italia! I walked through ruins and basked in the beauty that is Rome. Italian food is amazing! A must is the gelato, it is to die for, so many flavours so little time! My favourite thing about Rome was just the ability to just walk round with no intended destination, and just discover so much history. My tip would be show no fear when crossing the roads – literally its just walk and walk fast as the drivers do not stop unless you walk.

Decisions Decisions

“You’re always one decision away from a totally different life”

The most common question I’m asked is: ‘Where are you going?’ As I am writing this, I do not know where I am heading just yet. However, I do know vaguely that is it somewhere in Europe.

Now if you had told me when I applied to university, that I wouldn’t spend my year abroad in America I would have laughed. I suppose at the time of choosing my degree, my mindset was that I was going to go to America and road trip around the states. That was the dream. But reality kicks in from time to time.  Continue reading “Decisions Decisions”

The Gallery: Hastings

Myself and my boyfriend visited Hastings last summer. I would highly recommend going, take advantage of the beaches and amusements! We had a picnic on East hill overlooking the town, the viewpoints were amazing! My one tip is to check for events that are happening when you go; we didn’t so we ending up missing out on dressing like pirates for the annual Hastings Pirate Day.

Introductions

“A new year, a new start and way to go!”

In a few weeks time I will find out my destination for my upcoming year abroad; which is crazy and kinda scary. So how best to document this new year, which will bring about big change, than to start writing a blog. I want this blog to be almost like an online diary; I plan to discuss my reasoning behind going abroad, where I’ll be going, my bucket list for my year abroad, and the ups and downs. So for my first post, I’ll answer the question: why did I decide to do a abroad?  Continue reading “Introductions”
